    Ms Timmy Lamse
Massage began with her first baby, nearly 40 years ago.  Since that time she's spent thousands of hours giving massages.  Her formal education in massage therapy consists of 2 1/2 years at the Health Enrichment Center in Lapeer, Michigan.  When she graduated in 1996, she had earned Advanced Practitioner Status at the school by completing over 2,000 hours of education in massage therapy.  Part of her training included Pre-natal, Neo-natal, and Geriatrics.  She also completed an intensive course in Japanese Shiatsu and took several courses from Dr Leon Chaitow.  In addition, but outside of the school, she became a graduate of the Palmer Method of Chair Massage, which she used in offices for on-site corporate massage.

Desiring to focus on the elimination of pain, she began studying the Paul St John method of Neuromuscular Massage Therapy in 1997 and continued every year for eight years until all nine pieces of the program were completed.  As soon as that was done, she began studying Integrative Neurosomatic Therapy, which has continued for the past six years.

Ms Timmy's toolbox is filled with over 4,000 hours of education in methods and modalities of massage therapy from which to draw on, no matter what she encounters.  When she sees you, she really looks at you.  She has been trained how to see the body and to know what to do with what she sees.  She will assess and chart your posture and then evaluate what she saw in order to determine the source and cause of your pain.  Her goal will always be to eliminate your pain, not help you keep it and manage it.  After your session, you should look taller and feel taller, stride instead of waddle, and have an overall feeling that something great has just happened to you.

Ms Timmy loves a challenge so patients who have been existing, definitely not living, with chronic pain for a long time are especially attractive to her.  She is also hoping wounded EOD warriors will come to her because her son, Staff Sgt Brian Mast, is an EOD who became a double above-the-knee amputee in September of 2010.  Members of all branches of the military hold a special place in her heart.

         Ray Lamse
Ray was the General Manager of  The Essential Touch, several years ago.  Often, he would hear a patient of Ms Timmy's say something like, "I am over 1/2" taller than when I came in."  Someone else might say, "I put on my own slacks...for the first time, by myself, in over 5 years!"  Another client said, "I can use my right arm to comb my hair...the doctors told me that my right arm would be useless...for the rest of my life!"

Comments like those given above, inspired him to attend massage therapy school so that he could make a profound positive difference in the lives of his clients.  He put his experiences of 4 years working and learning in Blodgett Memorial Hospital Emergency Room...added his years as a medic in the US Army National Guard...and ended up back in The Essential Touch...as a therapist.  He has since added many great courses in advanced massage techniques and in exercise therapy.

He received a BS degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University, and finds himself fascinated by everyone he meets.

At least once a year, Ray attends advanced massage therapy training from some of the best in the industry.  Ongoing learning and teaching have continued improving his craft.

Ray uses all his life experiences to help his patients promote their health goals, in the most effective and efficient manner.  His soft touch and soft words have won a loyal following.  He would like to help you reach your goals.
